High Five Friday

Another week, another Friday!

Linking up with the lovely ladies for High Five Friday again.
I'm also extremely honored to be their featured blogger this week.
(You love me, you really, really love me. :) ....)

1. I have a "day off" today.
And by "day off", I mean I don't have school today. I'll be working at the day care instead. We had conferences on Wednesday and Thursday this week, which means I was stuck at school until 8 pm both days. Because of that, I got today off and got to go to the daycare instead. :)

2. Daniel is getting baptized on Sunday!
When we were dating, Daniel had a belief in a higher power, but nothing much past that. Even when we were engaged, he felt something was there but was very skeptical. Once I was saved, I started taking to him more and more, and he eventually started to understand and ask the right questions. Since then, he's been saved and we are both becoming members of our church. To do that, Daniel is getting baptized. I'm so happy for him!

3. Because of that, my in-laws are coming over on Saturday (church is at 8:30 am so they're staying the night).
We are going to have his parents and his sister here on Saturday. It's kind of a scary thought, but it's also exciting because it means I get to be a grown up and have people over. Weird!

4. Last week I finally bought the Anxiety and Phobia Workbook that my therapist told me I should get.
Looking at it gives me anxiety. It is HUGE! But, flipping through it, I'm fascinated. I have a psychology minor, so things like that are really intriguing for me. I'm actually kind of excited to work through it and see what I can learn. Hopefully I can apply some of these strategies.

5. On Monday Daniel and I are touring a new apartment complex.
It's bigger than where we are, looks nicer, and is in a different town. Still a suburb and very close to work and stuff, but a bit of a change. We're pretty excited.

  1. Happy Friday, Jayme! Stopping by from the link up! It looks like you're an avid reader, so I can't resist sharing a book I'm currently reading the topic of anxiety too, Anxious for Nothing by John MacArthur.

Here's a snippet of its description:
"As Christians, we're certainly not immune to the troubles of life. We aren't promised an easy road, and when troubles do come, we're urged to rise above them and experience "peace that passes all understanding." But how, in day-to-day life, does that really happen?
While numerous books have been written on overcoming anxiety, Anxious for Nothing moves us beyond pop psychology's temporary cures by returning us to our one true source of comfort and victory—Scripture."

If you're interested in checking it out, you can find it here: http://www.gty.org/products/books/452003/Anxious-for-Nothing-Softcover?Term=anxious%20for%20nothing ... I highly recommend it!! :)

    Have a beautiful upcoming weekend!

  3. My sisters name is Jayme and I rarely see it spelled this way! Congrats to Daniel on getting saved and baptized! I was saved when I was younger but husband (who was just my boyfriend at the time) wasn't saved until we were dating. Seeing him be baptized was my proudest moment!

  6. Really?! I'm not sure I've ever seen someone else spell their name the same way I do. I was saved two years ago and at that point he would hardly go near a church, so this is pretty exciting! :)
