Live Original pt. II

Welcome to Part II of my "Live Original Challenge".
This week we'll be covering Chapters 3 & 4.

Also, sorry I'm late. Work was crazy hectic this weekend. Long story.

Chapter 3 - "Never Give Up"

1. What's the hardest thing you have ever done or the hardest day you have ever lived? How did you get through it?
One of the hardest things I've ever had to do was come to grips with the fact that what I was doing to myself (cutting) was not healthy and I needed to get help. I remember the exact moment I realized this for the first time. I absolutely lost it, broke down crying, and told my mom everything.

This happened before my faith in God really came around, so I have to credit getting through this to my mother. Granted, looking back, I know God played a role. But back then I saw it just as my mom. She listened. And instead of judging, she was clearly just sorry that I was going through it and she didn't notice. She got me the help that we thought that I needed.

2. Is there someone in your life whom you shouldn't give up on? How can you continue to love that person?
Without going into too much detail, I'm going to have to say my sister-in-law. She's been through so much, especially lately, but she doesn't tend to see what she's doing wrong until it's too late. I've been tempted to give up many, many times because our relationship isn't what I think it should be. But I know I shouldn't give up. I can continue loving her by continuing to open up as I have been, tell her what I think even if I get shut down, and pray for her.

3. What small steps have you started taking toward your passion or your dream? Are you determined to keep going and not give up, no matter what?
I've been learning a lot more about different countries and their cultures. Just by knowing these things, I can relate to my students more. Plus, if I ever do get to travel the world, this will really help. Yes, I'm determined to keep going.

4. Why do you think it's important to never give up?
You never know what you can truly have if you don't have the guts to go for it. If you give up, you may miss an opportunity.

Chapter 4 - "Confidence Is Key"

1. What would you do differently in your life if you had as much confidence as you would like?
If I had as much confidence as I'd like, I'd love to be a public speaker of some sort, sharing my story and experiences with mental illness and self-harm. I really do believe that it has the power to help others. I've spoken to a few friends about it and it's helped them to realize they need help as well. So I'd love to be able to do that on a bigger scale.

2. What kinds of situations can cause you to lose your confidence? What Bible verses can you use to strengthen yourself when these things happen?
When my ideas get shot down or something comes up that's better than my ideas, I lose my confidence. When my students don't listen to what I'm trying to tell them, etc.

Plus, I have a very bad habit of continually comparing myself to others. So really, whenever I see a beautiful person, my confidence is shot.

3. What are your best qualities? Knowing your strengths and good qualities helps you grow in confidence.
I have to say I do love most of my personality. Yes, there's a few things I'm working on changing. But I like that I am opinionated. It keeps the ball rolling.

4. What is one dream or goal you would like to achieve, and how will confidence help you get there?
Again, my goal is to travel the world, teaching. Confidence will help me to be able to approach people from different countries, even if I'm not completely sure how they'll react. It will also help me be able to share my story with other people.
